Bistro Leon, Chico, CA
I'm sitting here enjoying my first pot of coffee (iced) in my new home in Chico. Lunch today is leftover Mexican feast from last night's cooking class at Bistro Leon. I can't say enough great things about Chef Ann Leon, but the Food. Oh the food. Chile rellenos, enchiladas, chile verde like you wouldn't believe and the CHEESE! Delicious.
BUT guess what Vegans? She can and will accomodate you! Yes! She makes her menu up nightly, so call ahead and you"ll be eating like kings for brunch or dinner. YUM. Of course everything I ate was or could easily be made gluten free, too!
Chef Ann is super conscious of buying only "Natural" meats - hormone and anti-biotic free, and organic veggies. She has local farmers deliver to her door daily, yes that's every single day! AND her steaks are cheaper than Outback - her prices are so competitive, why not just try it?
All I can say is head over to 817 Main St. in Chico (across from Chico Natural Foods) and prepare to have your culinary mind blown. The class I took was with 13 others last night and it was incredible! We all just sat, watched and (a couple of us) madly tried to capture every tidbit of culinary gold that was flying at us from the other side of the table. All this while we were served a complete feast. Thank goodness I was sitting near a seasoned veteran who wisely told me to pace myself or I would very easily find myself unable to eat any more!

Awesome! One of these days when we're kid free, Rachel and I will give it a shot.
